Jonathan Schranz, Musical Director, is a freelance conductor based in London. He studied choral conducting at the Royal Academy of Music where he was awarded a Distinction along with numerous prizes. He read music at Churchill College, Cambridge, graduating with first class honours in 2015. Jonathan enjoys a diverse career ranging from leading choral workshops in high security prisons to performing at private functions with his funk band, The Handlers.
In addition to his work with Brentwood Choral Society, Jonathan is currently Organist & Musical Director at the Church of St John at Hackney, Office Choir Leader at Grant Thornton London and a Section Leader for the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain. He is a workshop leader with Sing Inside, and regularly delivers choral singing workshops in maximum security prisons. Della Nicholson, Accompanist
Della studied piano and violin at the Royal Manchester
College of Music. She has worked as accompanist with many local soloists and was for many years the official accompanist for the Chelmsford Opera Group under conductor Alex Ingram. She was Head of the Piano Department for the Redbridge Music Service until 2007 and has been the official accompanist for the Brentwood Choral Society since 1980 with a few years’ break in order to sing in the choir.
